For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we feature Ron Jones. Here at SiteSpect, Ron is one of our regional sales managers and covers the southeast.

How long have you worked at SiteSpect?

5 years and counting.

Briefly describe your primary responsibilities within your role at SiteSpect. (What does a typical day look like?)

My primary focus is new business growth through strategic cold calling, emailing, leveraging social media and connecting with agencies who work with A/B testing solutions. I love developing close relationships with clients where SiteSpect and I are an extension of their team! I also manage newly closed accounts with focus on upsell growth and strive to exceed customer expectations.

What is it you enjoy most about your job?

I love that SiteSpect really has a unique business value where we can tie into prospects’ ecosystems in a way that no one else can and truly provide real ROI. SiteSpect is a family team-type culture of super smart people where you know everyone, you can trust them to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Every day is different and every day is a numbers game – I have to get through a lot of NOs and rejections before I get the Yes from a company. But I love the challenge and the constant grind!

I have to continuously educate myself on the market and companies that are a good fit so I know I’m optimizing my time, as well as, my team’s time at SiteSpect.

In your time at SiteSpect, what has been your favorite project or memory?

Anytime I close a new deal and the project is implemented and the first tests are running. And knowing that the new customer is accomplishing their goals and KPIs and seeing ROI they never could do with their previous tool. Specifically, closing new clients like Carolina Biological, Group Dynamite and Orvis. To be able to meet in person at their corporate office with my team (Paul B., Paul T., Michael S., or Bill C.) and learn we won their business was very gratifying. Great teamwork – High fives!!

When you aren’t working, how do you spend your free time?

I love spending time with my family. I love golfing with my girls. And any time I can be on a boat with friends (or customers) cruising, fishing, skiing, or just chilling, is my happy place. Lastly, I am a big distance runner, so anytime I can get out and get a good sweat on and clear my head is always great therapy :-).

List your favorite sports teams/bands/artists:

Roll Tide Roll – Alabama for college football. I do enjoy App State and FSU since my kids went there. I am a disappointed Dolphins fan that has turned more to fantasy football to track NFL teams. I seem to focus more on my fantasy players – sad, I know, but I love fantasy football!

My favorite bands are primarily from the ’70s like America, Doobie Brothers, Styx, Bread, Van Morrison, and my rock with AC/DC, Van Halen, and Aerosmith. However, when I’m on the boat my playlist includes Reggae and Country to help me chill out.

If you could have dinner with 3 people from history who would they be?

Jesus, Nelson Mandella and both my granddads.
