Responsive web design provides a great web experience for users across devices, without the need for installing native apps. Websites are built in such a way to adapt to users’ devices, with the goal of providing the best experience for a given screen size. For users jumping across laptops, mobile devices and tablets, it often provides a more consistent experience.

For teams working on optimizing their website with A/B testing and personalization, it’s an additional piece to account for, in an already complex puzzle. When building A/B tests and personalization, optimization teams need to make sure that every single change made to messaging, content or functionality is consistently represented across different viewports and devices. It often means more work, more validation, more QA, more analysis, and overall, longer cycles for getting campaigns out the door and getting results.

The SiteSpect platform offers a multitude of tools for editing, viewing, and validating your A/B tests and product recommendation efforts on responsive websites. One such tool is our Visual Editor, which includes purpose-built tools to work faster and more efficiently with responsive websites.

The mobile & responsive website viewer makes it easy to:

  • Edit your mobile website with the Visual Editor
  • View & edit your site for common smartphone and tablet sizes
  • View & edit your site in landscape or portrait mode
  • Customize the viewport for any custom size

Responsive image elements allow website designers to specify multiple images with different sizes and resolutions, for different devices.

We see marketers and optimization teams having challenges when making changes to responsive websites: content edits, swapping images reordering content, hero images, etc. They need to make the changes across different viewport sizes, and on different devices, and also do a lot more validation to make sure that the changes don’t interfere or break with the responsive design.

We recognize that it’s easier for teams to make all these changes from their main work computers, instead of having to swap to different devices or use browser developer tools to make these adjustments and to do validation.

Our responsive image editor allows these teams to edit all of these images in one place:

  • Edit all responsive image sizes with our image editor
  • Review and preview all sizes and resolutions at once
  • Edit responsive images in a much faster way

Viewports and devices come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so SiteSpect’s product team focused on a preset of key viewport sizes for easy and fast switching, as well as a portrait/landscape viewer. We also provide full flexibility to adjust the Visual Editor viewport to any custom size.

Finally, we wanted to provide an easy tool to make edits for those customers where a single responsive image on their website could have up to 8 different sizes and resolutions and could make those edits quickly and more effectively all from the SiteSpect platform.
