SiteSpect has some impressive employees in its ranks: from industry influencers to mentors, from gamers to publishers. The Employee Spotlight series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work here. We’ll be featuring an interview here on our blog and on our social accounts.
For this month’s Employee Spotlight, we feature Kevin Plankey. Here at SiteSpect, Kevin is our director of demand generation.
How long have you worked at SiteSpect?
Four years in April.
Briefly describe your primary responsibilities within your role at SiteSpect. (What does a typical day look like?)
I am responsible for the strategy and implementation of all demand generation efforts, including social, email, web, organic, paid search, paid social, and events. So a typical day is reviewing all of the channels we promote, especially digital channels, to see what we can do to improve performance that ultimately brings more leads and demo requests.
What is it you enjoy most about your job?
The thing I like most is that each day is different. There is always a new challenge or new project that needs attention. Everything is always in flux and we’re willing and able to adjust to trying new things.
In your time at SiteSpect, what has been your favorite project or memory?
My favorite project was optimizing the meta descriptions and title tags on the website along with optimizing our blog copy. My favorite memory at SiteSpect was our first sales summit where we got everyone in a room and went through our strategy because I finally had a chance to meet those who were remote in-person
When you aren’t working, how do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time reading, Stephen King is my favorite author. I also spend time golfing, playing basketball, officiating high school basketball games, and watching my son play basketball.
List your favorite sports teams/bands/artists:
My favorite sports teams are the Celtics, Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins, in that order. Since I was a kid, my favorite band is Kiss. I basically like classic rock as a music genre.
If you could have dinner with 3 people from history who would they be?
Abraham Lincoln, because he has always been my favorite President and I did a lot of reports on him in school. My Grandfather on my father’s side since I never had the opportunity to meet him. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, mostly because I think he’d bring a lot of funny stories to the table.
