Public Relations and Events Specialist
SiteSpect is looking for a results-oriented Public Relations and Events Specialist who can do it all. This position requires a no-excuses self-starter with excellent pitching and writing skills, superb organizational ability, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to get things done.

Responsibilities include:
Media Relations
- Creating news opportunities through customers, partners, technology, industry events, and other company news
- Writing, coordinating, and distributing news releases, pitch letters, and other press materials
- Pitching the media for news coverage, company profiles, executive interviews, trend stories, participation in round-ups, issues response, etc.
- Coordinating briefings with media and company executives
- Garnering contributed article placements (bylines) and product review opportunities
- Developing and maintaining contact lists, media lists, and databases
Public Relations
- Keeping the company's web site up to date with news releases, articles, customer logos, etc.
- Researching, applying for and tracking industry awards
- Researching, writing, submitting, and tracking speaking abstracts
- Scanning news and blogs for competitive and industry news to look for response opportunities
- Researching, pitching, and tracking editorial calendar opportunities
- Posting news and links to social media sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook
- Writing support materials for the web site, such as customer quotes and case studies
- Creating news kits
- Maintaining the public relations infrastructure
- Developing weekly updates as well as quarterly monitoring and reporting
Analyst Relations
- Requesting and coordinating vendor briefings
- Developing presentations
- Handling special projects as required
Events
- Coordinating company presence at trade shows and industry events
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in English, Public Relations, or Marketing
- 2-5 years experience in media relations required
- Demonstrable interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of AP writing style required.
- Experience with Web 2.0 technologies, social media, and SEO
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Courteous demeanor and positive attitude
- Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
